United Abominations was well received by critics and debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, the highest chart position for the band since 1994's Youthanasia. Allmusic stated Megadeth "sound reborn" on United Abominations. Megadeth - The System Has Failed (2004)

The System Has Failed is the tenth studio album released by American Thrash metal band Megadeth. It was the first album to be released following the band's re-establishment in 2004 after its disbandment in 2002 as well as the first not to feature bassist Dave Ellefson. It is also the band's fourth studio album that does not feature a title track (following So Far, So Good... So What!, Cryptic Writings and Risk), although the title is referenced in the song "Kick the Chair". It was released on September 14, 2004.
The "system" referred to in the album's title is "the American system and western civilization" which in Mustaine's opinion dictates what the world follows. Mustaine cites examples of such failure in America's educational system, which underpays its teachers, and its court system, which allows criminals to escape punishment.
Singles as well as music videos were made for "Die Dead Enough", "Of Mice and Men" and "The Scorpion". "Die Dead Enough" was originally set to be featured in the movie Saw, but it was not used for undisclosed reasons.

Megadeth - The World Needs A Hero (2001)

The World Needs a Hero is the ninth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released in 2001. It seen as a partial return to the band's thrash metal roots after the commercial hard rock style of their previous four albums (Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings and Risk). However the album still retained much of the commercial feel from previous albums, as Mustaine claims the album was like "a ship lost at sea trying to return to its course". This is also the last studio album to feature original bassist David Ellefson and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso. This is the only studio album to include guitarist Al Pitrelli (Pitrelli played on the previously unreleased songs on Capitol Punishment).
"Return to Hangar" is a sequel to the song "Hangar 18", which was found on the Rust in Peace album.
Mustaine also dedicated the song "When" to all the nay-sayers on Megadeth's internet message board who spoke ill of him and the band after their recent attempts at commercial success (or, a "big fuck you to all the wishy-washy fans out there".) The main riff and structure of "When" is reminiscent of "Am I Evil?" by Diamond Head, which Mustaine has said was intentional, as a homage to Diamond Head and the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement.
The World Needs a Hero is the first Megadeth album since 1990's Rust in Peace to feature band mascot Vic Rattlehead on the front cover. Edited versions of the album put an adhesive bandage over the innards of Dave Mustaine from which Vic Rattlehead is seen emerging.
A single as well as a video was made out of the lead single, Moto Psycho. Dread and the Fugitive Mind was also released as a promo single as well as previous release Capitol Punishment and the following release Still Alive... and Well?. The track "1000 Times Goodbye" contains a riff used in "Millenium of the Blind", a song found as a bonus track on the Youthanasia 2004 remaster.

Megadeth - Capitol Punishment (2000)

Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years is a greatest hits album by thrash metal band Megadeth, released in 2000, through Capitol Records. The album featured the Dave Mustaine/David Ellefson/Jimmy DeGrasso/Al Pitrelli line-up on the new tracks "Kill the King" and "Dread and the Fugitive Mind". The album features a hidden track, "Capitol Punishment", which is a medley of numerous previous Megadeth songs.
The title of the album is an allusion to the band's persistent difficulties with their record label, Capitol Records. Megadeth ultimately left Capitol and signed with Sanctuary Records, but were contractually obliged to release one further album with Capitol, hence the greatest hits compilation. With the exception of material from the band's debut album, Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!, which was released on Combat Records rather than Capitol, the compilation contains songs from all Megadeth's previously released albums at the time. In addition to the new track "Kill the King", Capitol insisted on the inclusion of "Dread and the Fugitive Mind", a track recorded for the upcoming The World Needs a Hero album. The band agreed simply to release themselves from their obligations to Capitol, but the enmity between band and label was memorialized in the title of the album, intended to demonstrate that working with Capitol was a form of punishment. This is the only compilation album to feature Crush 'Em, Use the Man and Almost Honest and are not on further compilations with the exception of the release of the box set Warchest in 2007.

Megadeth - Risk (1999)

Risk is the eighth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth released in 1999. Risk is the last original Megadeth release to feature long time Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, who announced his departure from the group in March 2000. This album is the first Megadeth recording with drummer Jimmy DeGrasso.
The title stems from a comment by Lars Ulrich from Metallica, who suggested to Dave Mustaine that he take more "risks" with his music . This decision resulted in mixed reviews for both the band and the album; a good portion did not favor the new sound and image, while other praised the band for attempting something different and experimenting rather than sticking to their roots. Risk went gold in 1999 as stated on Megadeth's web site.

Megadeth - Hidden Treasures [EP] (1995)

Hidden Treasures is an EP by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released in 1995. It is a collection of previously released non-album tracks, including soundtrack and compilation songs. The American version of the album is currently out of print, but the Japanese version is still available as of 2006. It was originally released in Europe as a special bonus CD for Youthanasia, before being released in Japan and the US as a separate EP later that year. A remastered version was released in Europe on April 30, 2007. The remastered album almost matches the Japanese release (with the bonus tracks moved to the end of the disc). The one difference is that the demo version of New World Order is replaced by the final version. Whilst this appears to be a mistake, it was probably intentional, as the demo version of New World Order already appeared on the remastered Youthanasia album.
The album cover features a map of north-central Arizona. Many of the cities on the map are the names of the songs that appear on the album.
The remastered version of Hidden Treasures was not officially released in America due to the inclusion of most of the songs on Warchest.

Tracklist :
  1. No More Mr. Nice Guy

Megadeth - Killing is my Business… And Business Is Good! (1985)

Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! is the debut album by the American heavy metal band Megadeth. It was originally released in June of 1985 through Combat Records. The album received positive reviews, even from mainstream music critics. The deluxe edition, completely remixed and remastered and featuring a new cover and several bonus tracks, was released by Loud Records in 2002.
The album's artwork, featuring a plastic skull with tinfoil, was not intended to be the original artwork. Both guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson had many phone conversation with Combat records to get the cover artwork properly reproduced from a sketch given to them by Mustaine of a picture of Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead on the cover. However the studio lost the artwork, and instead made their own and improvised the low-budget replacement, which Mustaine and the whole band were mortified with.
"These Boots" was on the original pressing of the album, but deleted from subsequent pressings due to legal issues with the song's writer, Lee Hazlewood. It was later added back onto the 2002 remaster, albeit with edit beeps everywhere a lyric change was made.
On June 4, 2009, a newly available Limited Edition of the album was released in Digipack LP Miniature CD. The CD itself is made to look like a mini LP and is pressed on black plastic with grooves on the top to imitate a LP , this version has the original cover which was lost and "These Boots" was removed again.

Slayer - World Painted Blood (2009)

World Painted Blood is the eleventh studio album by American heavy metal band Slayer. It was released through American Recordings/Sony Music on November 3, 2009. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman and executively produced by Rick Rubin. It is the band's only album produced by Greg Fidelman. With much anticipation for the album after 2006's Christ Illusion, members of Slayer were revealing information about the album since early 2009. There were four different artworks released for the album, each which completed one-fourth of a map, that when put together, illustrates the earth painted with red. There are eleven tracks on the album, with origins illustrating death and destruction, war, serial killers, and the Apocalypse.
Three singles were released from the album: "Psychopathy Red", "Hate Worldwide", and "World Painted Blood". "Psychopathy Red" leaked onto the internet over a year before its release, and was released as a seven–inch single on April 18, 2009. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics. It was praised by The A.V. Club, who said that the "resounding success in that regard: It's eclectic, but never self-consciously so." Slayer - Christ Illusion (2006)

Christ Illusion is the tenth studio album by the American thrash metal band Slayer. Released on August 8, 2006, the album received generally favorable critical reviews, and it entered the Billboard 200 at number 5—the band's highest U.S. chart position to date. Christ Illusion includes the Grammy Award-winning songs "Eyes of the Insane" and "Final Six", and is the band's first studio album to feature original drummer Dave Lombardo since 1990's Seasons in the Abyss.
Depicting a mutilated Christ painted by longtime collaborator Larry Carroll, the album's graphic artwork courted controversy. An alternative cover was issued to conservative retailers who felt uncomfortable with the original. Lyrical themes, particularly in the song "Jihad" which describes the September 11 attacks from a terrorist perspective, outraged the Mumbai-based Christian group Catholic Secular Forum in India. As a result, all Indian stocks of the album were recalled and destroyed by EMI India.

Slayer - God Hates Us All (2001)

God Hates Us All is the ninth studio album by American thrash metal band Slayer. Released on September 11, 2001 during the terrorist attacks, the album received mixed critical reviews, although it entered the Billboard 200 at number 28. Recorded in three months at The Warehouse Studio in Canada, God Hates Us All includes the Grammy Award-nominated "Disciple" and is the band's last album to feature drummer Paul Bostaph.
Guitarist Kerry King wrote approximately 80% of the lyrics, adopting a different approach from earlier recordings by including prevalent themes such as religion, murder, revenge, and self-control. Limiting the lyrics to topics which everyone could relate to, King wished to explore more in depth, realistic subject matter. The band experimented musically by recording two songs with seven-string guitars, and a further two with drop B tunings. The album's release was delayed due to the graphic nature of its artwork for which slip covers were created to cover the original artwork, difficulties encountered during audio mixing, and the change of distributor by the band's record label during the release period.

Guitarist Jeff Hanneman wrote most of the album's content which has been described as Slayer's most experimental album.
